St. Josephs Hospice receives $10,000 gift from local skincare sales reps

On Friday, St. Joseph’s Hospice of Sarnia Lambton gratefully received a $10,000 donation from luxury skincare brand Seacret, whose corporate giving program awarded local sales agent, Tracy Donald and her husband Rob the opportunity to donate to a charity of their choice.

Tracy earned the chance to present a $10,000 cheque on behalf of Seacret by achieving the number one sales position in North America during their November promotional campaign.

The donation date, January 31 marked exactly two-years since her mother-in-law, Beth Donald, a former continuing care nurse at Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital died, after a month long stay at St. Joseph’s Hospice. Tracy’s stepmother also died at St. Joseph’s Hospice in 2011.

“When my mom got sick, we were heartbroken that we couldn’t give her the same high-quality care she gave her patients until, she was admitted to St. Joseph's Hospice in Sarnia. It is a really special facility but, unfortunately, most people don’t think about it until they need it,” said Rob Donald.

“At Hospice, we didn’t have to worry about anything. We ate whatever was in the kitchen slow cooker, visited whenever we wanted and felt fully taken care of by nurses, who took every action to ensure Beth was comfortable. The Hospice gave our family an incredible last month, after an extremely difficult year,” said Tracy Donald.

The Donald’s say giving back to St. Joseph’s Hospice has been the most rewarding opportunity of their careers. They hope their story will inspire others to learn more about the profound need the organization serves in our community.

During their ‘big cheque’ presentation the Donald’s filled the Resource Centre with their amazing team, friends and family. St. Joseph’s Hospice thanks every person who made this generous gift possible. Thank you to all those who purchased products from Tracy and supports her business.
