Memoriam Donations - A Gift in Memory

Many people choose to make St. Joseph's Hospice their charity of choice when their loved one dies. When you make an "in memoriam donation" to honour the memory of a friend or a loved one St. Joseph's Hospice will send a letter to the family to notify them of your gift and will send you a tax receipt.

Hospice Special Events

If you would like to get involved in volunteering for St. Joseph's Hospice Special Events please contact Bernadette Burrowes, Volunteer Coordinator at 519-337-0537.

Monthly Gifts

Monthly Giving is another way of maximizing your contributions to St. Joseph's Hospice while providing us with a dependable cash flow to fund programs and services and commit to future projects. Your regular, monthly gifts can be made through on-line donation, post-dated cheques, VISA or MasterCard.

Planned Giving

As the name implies, planning ahead to leave a gift in your will is one the most thoughtful ways to help others and leave a lasting impact on your community. There are many kinds of planned gifts such as simple bequests in a will or estate plan, annuities, charitable trusts, pooled income, life insurance and life estates.

A planned gift is a special legacy for the future, which provides a source of financial support for St. Joseph's Hospice while also providing personal tax benefits. These gifts are arranged in the present, usually within an individual's estate or financial plan, and actualized at a later date. Examples of planned gifts include; bequests, life insurance, securities, charitable gift annuities, and gifts of personal and real property.

Gifts In-kind

St. Joseph's Hospice appreciates gifts of in-kind items such as auction items, art work, prizes, as well as some food and beverage items. If you would like to donate in-kind gifts to St. Joseph's Hospice please give us a call. As a registered charity, St. Joseph's Hospice can issue tax receipts for the fair market value of some in-kind gifts.

Donations in Lieu of Gifts

Many families choose to honour a special event like a birthday, anniversary or wedding by suggesting their guests make a donation to St. Joseph's Hospice in lieu of gifts. We will prepare special cards for you to include with your invitations and your friends will receive an income tax receipt and acknowledgement of their gift. You will receive notice of all of the gifts we receive.

Thank you for making a difference in the lives of people living with serious illness or grieving the loss of a loved one.
