Royal Canadian Legion Branch #62 Continues to Generously Support Hospice

January 1, 2022

We are so very appreciative to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #62 for their continued support of St. Joseph’s Hospice and those we serve. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #62 generously donated $2,500 to St. Joseph’s Hospice to be used for Isolation Gowns. A big thank you for your donation and your community spirit, helping us during these difficult times we still face in light of the continuing global pandemic.

WYOMING LIONS SUPPORT ST. JOSEPH’S HOSPICE

Thank you to the Wyoming Lions for their very generous donation of $1,000 on December 15th. It is because of our very generous community partners that we are able to provide our services to Sarnia Lambton free of charge. While we recognize the financial support the Wyoming Lions Donation brings us, those we serve remain the true beneficiaries of their generosity.

2021 COMMUNITY IMPACT GRANT PROGRAMME RECIPIENT

January 1, 2022

St. Joseph’s Hospice was very fortunate to be selected as a recipient of the 2021 Community Impact Grant through the Sarnia Community Foundation that was supported by the McDermott Fund. A cheque was presented to St. Joseph’s Hospice in the amount of $5,919.58 to purchase a new Blanket Warmette (Towel/Blanket Warmer) for the Residence at St. Joseph’s Hospice. A warmer is an essential component in providing our residents with comfort throughout their end-of-life journey.

SARNIA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION CONTINUE TO SUPPORT HOSPICE

January 1, 2022

On December 13, 2021, the Sarnia Community Foundation presented St. Joseph’s Hospice with a very generous cheque in the amount of $26,452.84. St. Joseph’s Hospice Board of Directors, Staff and Volunteers would like to thank the Sarnia Community Foundation for their continued support. LILY & LORENZO CONTINUE TO SHOW COMPASSION AND CARE FOR OUR COMMUNITY

Lily and Lorenzo are two young philanthropists that continue to support St. Joseph’s Hospice and those we serve. Their passion and dedication to making their community and St. Joseph’s Hospice an amazing place, does not go unrecognized! For the third year in arow this brother and sister duo have decorated Christmas cards that will be delivered to St. Joseph’s Hospice Residents on Christmas day in hopes of spreading Christmas joy and cheer. They have also contributed some Hot Chocolate for them as well.

FAMILY HOLIDAY GRIEF PACKAGES – SPONSORED BY PLAINS MIDSTREAM CANADA

December 10, 2021

With the generous grant from Plains Midstream Canada, we were able to assemble 30 Family Holiday Grief Packages to support families in commemorating and mourning after the death of a loved one. Families received a link to a virtual guide through each activity, a memorial candle lighting ritual, and a storybook reading. These packages served a total of 65 children in the community.

Each grief package included:

* Gingerbread making kit & hot chocolate mix

* Supplies for a memorial activity and art activity

* Copy of the book "The Memory Box”

LAMBTON SANITATION & FRIENDS SUPPORT ST. JOSEPH’S HOSPICE!

On December 8th, 2021, Clint and Josh from Lambton Sanitation presented a cheque in the amount of $7,655 to St. Joseph’s Hospice on behalf of Lambton Sanitation and their Hockey Supporters for 2020-2021. SLIPACOFF DENTISTRY SUPPORTS NURSES WEEK!

December 10, 2021

Nurses are the heart of healthcare, and the current public health crisis has been a stark reminder of the gratitude we owe them every day and even more so now. Each year National Nurses Week provides an opportunity for St. Joseph’s Hospice to step back and honor the selfless care, instinctive insights, and tireless effort nurses provide to our Hospice Residents and their families. This year Slipacoff Dentistry partnered with St. Joseph’s Hospice and provided a very generous donation of $1,950 to purchase St.
